All products go through a rigorous QC process with an additional 24hr aging test conducted prior to shipment to ensure quality and craftsmanship in each individual fixture.
Optics and Efficacy
Light Emitting Designs is one of the pioneers in the LED industry for using reflector controlled optics. This proprietary optical design using high efficiency chrome reflectors enables glare free, uniform lighting for all applications by redirecting the light to the desired surfaces. This technology eliminates the need for costly and fragile plastic lenses.
It is estimated that light loss from acrylic or polycarbonate lenses is as much as 30%. Old style secondary plastic lenses are also susceptible to weather, UV and thermal shock, which further degradates optical quality and fixture lifespan.
Thermal Management
Light Emitting Designs’ LED drivers are engineered specifically for extreme application lighting that requires high ambient operating temperatures. It utilizes the latest topology in electronic circuitry design with state of the art military and industrial grade components. The LED driver is encapsulated with thermal potting into a dedicated heat sink for better thermal performance and greater flexibility for service and maintenance.
This LED driver module delivers an outstanding 95% efficiency and is designed to last in excess of 80,000 hours in harsh environments with high ambient temperatures.
